She was born and raised in Louisville and has practiced medicine in Oldham County, just outside of Louisville since 2010. Dr Kayrouz is married to Ron and between them have five children and six grandchildren.
Her passions outside of medicine and her family are travel, culinary arts, and photography. She loves to experience the beauty and culture of this world and capture it on camera. She enjoys creating new recipes, especially when she can share them with others. She also values fitness and health and regularly walks, hikes, swims, bikes and participates in TRX and other strength training.
Dr Kayrouz was voted best physician in Oldham County in 2023 and 502 Direct Primary Care has been voted best medical practice in Oldham Country 2022 – 2025! She is a strong advocate for the direct primary care model of healthcare as she feels she can truly care for patients in the way she dreamed of. Her patients are her priority and she is proud to offer them the best care.
MEET AMBER DEPTOLA, MD
A first generation physician, Dr. Amber (Zimmer) Deptola decided to pursue a career in medicine after volunteering at Norton Children’s Hospital in high school. During her volunteer experiences, she realized the great potential for physicians to connect with their patients and partner with them towards better health, an aim she continues to strive for in her care now as physician.
Originally from Ohio, Dr. Deptola completed her undergraduate degree at Miami University in Ohio and then returned back to Kentucky for her medical school training at the University of Louisville, where she graduated with highest honors. After she completed her residency training in Internal Medicine at Washington University in St. Louis, Dr. Deptola served as a Chief Resident, and then remained in St. Louis as a faculty member for 8 years. As faculty, Dr. Deptola cared for patients, taught, and directed multiple programs for medical students and resident physicians. In addition to teaching evidence-based medicine, Dr. Deptola trained resident physicians on communication skills, including the use of coaching and motivational interviewing in patient care. Dr. Deptola believes strongly that building close relationships with patients and use of good communication strategies is integral to helping achieve health goals that are personalized to each patient.
Dr. Deptola returned to Louisville with her husband and 2 children in 2022 after missing the small town feel. When not caring for patients, Dr. Deptola can be found out in the Crestwood community cheering on her kids in their sports, leading girl scouts, volunteering, exercising, & baking bread.
MEET LINDSEY ENGEL, MD
Dr. Lindsey W. Engel is a board-certified family medicine physician dedicated to providing personalized, relationship-centered care in Crestwood, Kentucky. She believes that the foundation of great healthcare is knowing each patient as a person, not just a diagnosis, and values the time and connection that the direct primary care model makes possible.
A Kentucky native, Dr. Engel grew up in Lexington before earning her bachelor’s degree from Vanderbilt University and her medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine. She completed her family medicine residency at the University of Wisconsin and has spent more than a decade caring for patients in private practice, academic medicine, and federal healthcare settings.
While Dr. Engel enjoys caring for patients of all ages and stages of life, she has a special interest in women’s health. She previously served as the Women’s Health Medical Director at the Louisville VA, where she helped lead and improve care for women veterans.
Dr. Engel believes every patient has a unique story, and she sees listening as one of the most important parts of practicing medicine. She loves that direct primary care allows her to build lasting relationships, spend meaningful time with patients, and partner with them to achieve their individual health goals.
Outside the office, Dr. Engel enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons, staying active, exploring the outdoors (always wearing SPF!), traveling, discovering new restaurants, and tackling the occasional crafting project.
